      I work to capture magic moments, not create or manufacturer them. Thus, my work centers on observing the wedding day as it happens, in all of its fun, beauty, stress, and glory. My work falls outside the bounds of much traditional wedding photography in that I have no desire to stop the day in order to force an inauthentic photograph. I hope to be there to capture every genuine expression, glance, touch, and unspoken exchange that takes place. This focus on fewer groups and less formal portrait work puts couples squarely back in the position to focus on what's truly important on this of all days: remaining in the moment with one another and relishing the company of loved ones gathered as witnesses. My overall process and each of the packages I offer work to this singular aim:

To get couples back to actually creating magic in real-time, on their own; because that's what the entire day is all about.

Reportage

Reportage (repôrˈtäZH/) coverage is a sole focus strictly upon telling the story of the day beautifully through candid images taken in the reportage style; nothing more and nothing less. This genre of photography seeks to place the artist in a "guests' eye view" for the day, working as unobtrusively and discreetly as possible. Plain & simple: the photographer's goal is observation and not orchestration. This focus allows the couple and their guests to remain in the moment and free from distraction, while relying upon the photographer's deep experience and sense of aesthetic to do so in ways that are not only true-to-form and exciting, but that also yield technically strong, timeless images.

Editorial

Editorial coverage achieves images with "magazine-worthy" style and feel through added direction from the artist and the allocation of time for comprehensive portrait work. Accurate storytelling remains the core focus, yet woven into the day are opportunities to intentionally capitalize upon the location, lighting, & people involved. This is accomplished through greater levels of curation, artistic direction, and/or arrangement of groups. This is for couples and families who mainly desire the photojournalistic approach and style, yet still hope to capture a measure of the detail, group, and portrait images germaine to much of traditional wedding photography.
